Pastel One is about little sounds, and dancing, a little bit or a lot. Pastel One is about being joyful, and thinking about the soft things that can't hurt us. Your best friend's lip curling into a tiny smile. That time you got a little lick on the cheek from your favourite pup. A time to be alive and to breathe deep.  All tracks made using a Game Boy Advance SP, nanoloop 2, and a Korg Kaoss Pad Mini.

These ancient belabored melodies have finally escaped the vault of obscurity that they have haunted for years. Woe betide the unfortunate listeners whose souls are burdened by these maddening waveforms.  This minimal effort marks the first addition of maniacal vocals and electric autoharp to EvilWezil's gameboy transmissions. No apologies or explanations were given as to why these songs sat unpublished for so long. The reasons behind his long absence and subsequent return from the void remain...

This album is a boldly singular work in tribute to that soft green, leafless plant which grows like nature's carpet in damp conditions around the world. Synth rock, chiptune, bizarro dream pop, product IDs and news reports combine to bryophytic effect in a release that has to be heard to be believed.

In 1991, at the age of 3, Alex received his first Game Boy as a gift to keep him busy on the plane ride to see his brother. Today, 26 years later, he uses that very same DMG and three others to create Pulsing.  From Cedar Falls, Iowa, Pulsing delivers energetic 8-bit chiptune, pulling influences from EDM and punk rock to craft tight melodies and heavy bass grooves. But in the end, Pulsing is about having fun and keeping that smile on your face.

F13 is the soundtrack to a video game heavily inspired by the Friday the 13th horror series. It all began when David Arseneau started work on a post-grad research project into how pop culture phenomena are pieced together from various component parts and he chose to explore slasher movies and the Friday the 13th franchise. One aspect of this project was creating a working video game and so he enlisted lpower to provide the soundtrack, as well as much of the in-game pixel art. The whole project...

"Dead Lights and Dark Towers is a concept album of sorts detailing my journey into brokenness. Fear and hopelessness. Doubt. Bitter vengeance and despair, and my discovery of just how deeply rooted into my being those things had become over more than a decade. Scrabbling around at the bottom of the bargain bin your hand is drawn to a tattered box that looks like it's seen better days. The box art is unsettling but there's something oddly hypnotic as you clutch it in both hands and walk towards the checkout to make the purchase. The game loads as you bathe in a flashing neon CRT glow, but as soon as you push START an uneasy feeling...

This debut EP from Please Lose Battle is a tribute to childhood gaming and the emotions we experienced back then: distraction, frustration, joy, impatience... Everything here was made using FamiTracker with 2A03 + N163 or VRC6 (there is no DPCM channel, except for the effects at the end of the final track). The goal was to explore the possibilities and restrictions of a unique tool, in turn challenging musical creativity and songwriting.

Renegade 8's debut release is a mesmerizing nighttime journey through the seedy underbelly of chiptune. Pulling a variety of samples from the crackling guts of an NES, Renegade 8 uses these sounds to craft melodic, action-packed chiptunes reminiscent of side-scrolling beat 'em ups set across subway stations, dimly-lit streets and grimy alleyways. lpower is back with his most absorbing release to date - Abinox. The compositions here are longer, moodier and feature more minimalist concepts than his previous works. The Canadian composer wanted to examine and explore how 16-bit video game soundtracks were put together in the old days, and he assembled a 'super setup' of nostalgic chips and synths (TurboGrafx-16, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, NES, OSCar synth, Yamaha DX7) with which to do so.
